Eliyahu Ben-Elissar (1932–2000) was an Israeli diplomat, politician, and author. A Holocaust survivor, he immigrated to Israel and became a key figure in the Likud party. Following the Camp David Accords, he was appointed as Israel’s first ambassador to Egypt, symbolizing the normalization of relations between the two nations after decades of conflict. He later served as a member of the Knesset and held multiple diplomatic posts, including ambassador to the United States and France.
