Gerald R. Ford autographed First Day Cover, signed prominently across the front in bold ink. The cover features the 1938 John Tyler 10¢ stamp with Washington, D.C. first day cancellation dated September 2, 1938, from the “Presidents of the United States” series.
Near fine condition. An early company PSA/DNA authentication sticker (B26165) is affixed to the verso.
Gerald R. Ford (1913–2006) served as the 38th President of the United States from 1974 to 1977, assuming office following the resignation of Richard Nixon. Previously the House Minority Leader, Ford was the only person to serve as both Vice President and President without being elected to either office. His presidency focused on restoring public trust in government after Watergate and navigating economic challenges of the mid-1970s. Ford remains noted for his steady leadership during a pivotal transitional period in American history.
