
Description
Struck in 1886, this Morgan Silver Dollar is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper. The obverse presents George T. Morgan's neoclassical depiction of Liberty, wearing a Phrygian cap adorned with cotton and wheat, surrounded by thirteen stars, the national motto E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the date. The reverse displays a heraldic eagle with wings uplifted, grasping arrows and an olive branch, encircled by a laurel wreath, with inscriptions reading UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, and the denomination ONE DOLLAR.
