What appears to be a complete dress set for a member of the Knight's of Columbus. This set is named to Robert H. McCormick of Iowa. The box sports the Knights of Columbus Fourth Degree emblem which features a dove, symbolizing the Holy Spirit, a cross and a globe. The emblem represents the patriotic degree of the order, adding the symbol of patriotism to charity, unity, and fraternity. The organization is meant to empower Catholic men to live their faith and serve their communities. This grouping consists of the dress cover, a ceremonial cloak, sashes, gloves ribbons, medallions and provenance. The cloak is made by The English Company of Colonial Heights, NY and the cover is made by Lynch & Kelly Inc. of Utica, NY, The cover is size 7 1/2 and comes with a custom carrying case. This lot is in overall very good condition and dates to the late 1960s-1970s. The plume of the hat is in very good condition and shows nearly no signs of degradation or shedding. According to our research Mr. McCormick passed away in 2015 in Cedar Rapids at the age of 74 and was survived by his wife and children. He was a former member of the National Guard, farmer and devout Catholic.
