Bronze, over 1 1/8” (1.15”) diameter. Rounded faces forming a ridged edge. Surface degraded and textured from burial. Worn in numbers, these were decorative as well as serving as a measure of protection from sword blows. See images for a similar brooch with a sword cut. Professionally refurbished with the pure silver overlay restored. On an 18” modern Sterling silver neck chain for contemporary wear. Jewelry gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
