
Description
A rare "Festtåget" bar cart designed by Erik Mattsson for Mjölby Intarsia in Sweden in the late 1930s/1940s. This example features delicate marquetry inlays which portray the dancing attendants of Bacchus, their thyrsi entwined with grapevines and baskets overflowing with grapes. The doors open to concealed compartments designed for storing bottles and glasses.
