Description: This is an excellent folio sheet with three separate maps of potions of Italy and France. At left is a map of part of the Tuscan region in Italy with Sien(n)a near the top. At top right is the island of Corsica with north to the left, and below that is the Ancona region along the Adriatic coast with north to the bottom (dated 1572, but appears in this sligtly later dated Atlas). Each map is adorned with decorative cartouches and stripple seas. Details shown include topography, rivers, town, cities, etc. French text on verso. From Theatre de L'Univers..., the French edition on Theatrum Orbis Terrarum, published by C Plantin.
