Likely France or England, with amazing hand carved detailing surrounding a very finely executed traditional landscape / stream scene.

13.5" wide by 11.5" tall by 1.75 deep.

The painting alone is collection worthy, as is the interior frame - in finely hand cut gilt wood.

Then, the artisan added an outer glass box presentation, with carries the image and gilt carving forward and safely preserves it for posterity.
