A substantial hand carved wooden bowl with integral arrow-shaped handle, hewn from a single piece of wood.
Likely 19th C. India, Asia or possibly North Africa, with wonderful grains, tones, and weight.
The underside shows tool marks from handwork, while the interior exhibits heavy use - which has created a smooth, even finish. The handle is arrow or paddle shaped, carved as part of the same block.
One old repair near handle.in then shape of a single staple - now aged and subtle, and actually adds charm to the overall look of the piece.
Approx. 3" tall, 15 3/4" wide, and just under 20" wide from handle to opposite rim.
