Finely decorated antique Japanese Satsuma biscuit jar featuring hand-painted figural scenes within circular cartouches, surrounded by intricate geometric and floral motifs. The ivory crackle-glazed body is richly embellished with raised moriage enamel and extensive gilt detailing throughout.
The jar is topped with its original lid, fitted with a loop finial and decorated en suite. A beautiful example of late Meiji to early TaishÅ period Japanese ceramics, showcasing the refined craftsmanship and decorative richness associated with high-quality Satsuma ware.
