Description:Vintage-style cast iron skeleton key modeled after late-19th century cabinet and furniture keys. During the Victorian era, keys of this type were commonly used for desks, document boxes, trunks, and merchant cabinets, when decorative ironwork was still part of everyday hardware.
Skeleton keys became widespread with warded lock systems, allowing a single key pattern to operate multiple locks. Because of this, many original examples survived long after the furniture disappeared, often kept on desks or hung near ledgers as practical tools turned personal objects.
Cast in solid iron with a timeworn finish that reflects the character of period examples. Designed for display, prop use, or historical interiors.
