Prokuda Grigory Grigoryevich (1857-1936), Russian and Ukrainian landscape painter. He was born in Kyiv. In 1875-78 he took painting lessons at the Kyiv Drawing School of Mykola Murashko. In the 1880s, he traveled to Europe, where he worked mainly on mountain landscapes in Italy and Austria. Upon his return, he lived and worked in Kyiv, where he had his own art gallery. The artist painted landscapes of Ukrainian villages on the outskirts of Kyiv and romantic mountain landscapes. He participated in exhibitions of the Society of Kyiv Artists. He died in Kyiv in 1936. Most of Hryhorii Prokuda's works are kept in private art collections.
