Description

Chinese coconut shell goblet featuring a silver-lined interior and a silver-mounted rim, raised on a non-silver stem and foot. The natural coconut shell exterior is carved and decorated with engraved foliate motifs, retaining attractive texture and patina. The silver lining was applied to allow the vessel to function as a drinking cup, protecting the porous shell. Height: 3.25 inches.
