Vintage Scrimshaw Floral Buzzing Bee Necklace, 18". It is signed MAD on the front of the pendant. This has a chain that is marked sterling but does not test as sterling. It is appx. 1.5mm wide. The pendant has a swing bail and the artwork pendant is appx. 1.5" long with the bail and 7/8" wide. The scrimbshaw is etched into the piece which is likely a faux scrimshaw as it is not in bone but in a plastic - you can see the etched design and this has color added - pink flowers and buds with green leaves and a black and yellow hovering bee. It is appx. 1960's-1970's. Very good condition with a little mark on the flat part of the clasp where it is marked sterling. It just has a magnetic response and does not test as sterling, plated but not sterling. (W111922.8 SS9187 J LD 12/29/22).
