Roy Lichtenstein represents people and everyday objects transforming them into art, extrapolating a scene from its original context and giving it a completely renewed meaning, with the inclusion of texts and onomatopoeias, in addition to the distinctive dotted effect created using the Ben-Day dots technique. This is the foundation of American Pop Art itself, whose artists are inspired by subjects of mass culture and objects of common use, isolating them from their natural environment to transform them into the new symbols of a consumerist society devoted to excess: the same objects were already deeply imprinted in the collective imagination, thanks to the pressing advertising that invaded the communications of the main mass media.
