Description:BERNARD STERN (1920-2002). Modernist Musical Mixed Media. Homage to Sebastian VII, 1982, 22" x 18-5/8" sight size (framed size: 34-1/2" x 32") signed lower right: Stern 82. We believe the piece itself may have a piece of plexi-glass over it. Has a heavy piece of glass that will be discarded before shipping. SHIPS WITHOUT GLASS! Frame is also big. Frame has some losses and nicks, frame also has some drill holes in the top. This piece was previously the property of Independence Bank and sold to them by Amphora Antiques of Beverly Hills, California. The price on the back is $5500.00. See photograph 7. The drill holes might be to have hung it somewhere in the bank. I have a slightly larger piece from the same series that came from Amphora Antiques and I'm also running it on Ebay as a separate auction.
Born as a British National in Brussels, Belgium in 1920. His mother was English and his father of Russian origin. Stern married an American and lived in London and New York.
