Description:EDNA HIBEL. Mother and Child. Lithograph with pastel colors. Image sight size: 19-1/2" x 14-1/2" (framed size: 35-1/2" x 31") inscribed lower left: ARTIST'S PROOF. Signed lower right. I couldn't find any other examples of this piece which leads me to believe this is a rare one. It's an Artist's Proof so it's a very small limited edition. Has heavy glass that will be discarded before shipping. SHIPS WITHOUT GLASS!
Edna Hibel was an American painter best known for her Impressionistic landscapes and Mother and Children series, inspired by the work of both Mary Cassatt and Pierre-Auguste Renoir. Born in 1917 in Boston, MA, Hibel went on to study painting at the Boston Museum School of Fine Art, graduating in 1939.
