Model 8200 surveyor’s transit level finished in textured gray, mounted to its original base and accompanied by wooden carrying case with leather strap handle and brass-tone latches. Instrument plate reads �David White Instrument Company – Mod. 8200 – Milwaukee, Wisconsin, � with serial number 98251. The transit features a horizontal telescope with focusing adjustment, graduated angle scale, leveling screws, and integrated sight. Included accessories visible include lens cap, plumb bob, and small tool, all resting on the original wood base. Interior of the case retains original paperwork including purchase and guarantee documents noting a May 31, 1966 purchase.
Case interior has fitted wood supports and felt pads. Exterior wood shows scratches, scuffs, and finish wear consistent with field use; leather strap exhibits dryness and edge wear. Instrument appears clean with minor surface wear to painted finish; optics untested.
