Executed in the highly sought-after "Carte à Figures" style, this cornerstone piece famously depicts the legendary cartographic myth of California as an island. The richly detailed composition features indigenous figures, early American city views, and oceans animated with ships. Guaranteed authentic and elegantly framed under UV-protective Plexiglas (28 x 23.5 in). In great antique condition with slight fading and two minor professional filled repairs that do not detract from its exceptional display presence. A rare, visually striking statement piece for any serious collection or luxury interior.
