Description
This elegant clear pressed glass covered candy compote features an ornate all-over floral and foliate pattern with fine stippled backgrounds, set against a classic pedestal base with a decorative pineapple/artichoke finial on the domed lid. A beautiful example of Early American Pattern Glass (EAPG), likely produced between the 1880s–1930s by one of the major American glasshouses such as Heisey, Imperial, Indiana Glass, or Westmoreland. The intricate mold-pressed detailing is crisp and well-defined throughout. Piece stands on a circular foot with a knopped stem. No maker's mark identified. Sold as found.
Condition
Clear glass, no chips or cracks noted to the naked eye. Some light surface wear consistent with age. Lid and base present and fit together well.
