A Swedish Gustavian pair of carved and painted wood display pedestals from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. These Period Gustavian pedestals from Sweden, Circa 1800, have a hand-carved, solid wood construction consisting of round-shaped tops over a central column with flute and leaf carved accents, a downward turned bowl-shaped lower region, and finally terminating into a larger square-shaped base. The finish is older but not original, with soft aqua, grey/green, taupe, and beige color palette. Please note that there is some warping to the top saucer (see additional images for more details). This pair of Swedish Gustavian pedestals would be a wonderful display for art or plants, perhaps flanking an entryway or window.
