Dragon wrapped Bronze urn, or incense burner. Champleve enamel to highlight the dragon and lighting across a field of small swirling clouds. The interior has three small pinhole-sized casting flaws. The Bottom is mended by a Japanese bronze mirror mounted to the interior rim..The size is large, 15" tall and 18" in diameter at the shoulders, with the dragon projecting out another 5 ". A heavy and solid Dragon head is pinned in place as an attachment. Edo period. work with a Meiji period repair mirror used on the bottom. Wonderful Imaginative art. Impressive urn.
