Set of 4 original engraving botanicals by William Curtis, 1803. Featuring the Trillion, Oleander, Snapdragon, and Gasteria Flowers. Custom framed in matching carved gilt wood frames with wide cream mats and delicate gold fillet liners.
Curtis began publishing the *Botanical Magazine: Plants of the Royal Gardens* at Lovell Reeve in London in 1856. He started creating botanical illustrations in 1787 and continued this work almost without interruption for 160 years. The plates are renowned for their fine detail and delicate hand coloring, reflecting a time when detailed botanical illustrations were often the only way to record and understand the vast diversity of plant life.
In great condition - Frames show age-appropriate gilt wear consistent with period pieces. Prints are clean and bright with no foxing visible. Dimensions: 32" x 40" set / 15" x 18 1/2" each print.
