A large Pair of Italian Florentine Wall Brackets, Hand-carved and Giltwood. Each bracket features a serpentine top shelf above an elaborately carved support of scrolling foliage and pierced ornamentation. It showcases bold scrolling acanthus leaves, deeply undercut volutes, and dynamic asymmetry characteristic of the Florentine tradition. The pair presents a wonderful sense of movement and balance. Such brackets were traditionally used to display porcelain, devotional objects, small sculptures, or candleholders. Their scale makes them substantial enough to hold meaningful decorative objects while remaining elegant and visually light due to the pierced carving.
