This splendid toile from the 17 hundreds shows a very elaborate decor of Boats , landscape and architectural elements extremely detailed and fine , it is printed in light fin linen all this let us think that we are here in presence a toile de Nantes, that was some of the best produce in France , the scenes are directly inspired by the painter Claude Joseph Vernet ( 1714 - 1789 ) famous for his harbor scenes and antique building showing trade scenes , here it is was we call a Turquerie as it represent people with turbans style that is more rare than chinoiserie , anyway all this to say that it s a splendid piece were you see different details every time you look at it .
