Chinese Export Famille Rose Tureen & Stand,
Circa 1765
A magnificent Chinese Export porcelain soup tureen, cover, and stand, decorated in the vibrant Famille Rose palette and dating to the Qianlong period (circa 1765).
The oval vessel is hand-painted with ornate floral bouquets featuring peonies and chrysanthemums in pinks, yellows, and purples, flanked by scattered floral sprigs on the cover and sides. The matching underdish mirrors this design with a large central bouquet surrounded by smaller blooms.
The form is distinguished by its sculptural elements: the cover is surmounted by a pierced iron-red crown finial. The tureen is flanked by two handles modeled as boars' heads, painted in iron-red with expressive black detailing.
