Description:Cast iron figural boot jack styled after late-19th and early-20th century novelty household tools. Boot jacks were commonly kept near entryways, mudrooms, and farm porches, allowing muddy or tight boots to be removed without bending or straining footwear.
Figural examples — particularly human or novelty forms — became popular during the Victorian period, when even practical household items were produced with decorative character. Pieces like this were often found in country homes, hunting lodges, and working farms where durable cast iron tools were preferred.
Designed to brace one foot while the heel of a boot rests in the opening, providing leverage for easy removal.
Solid cast iron construction with a timeworn finish suitable for display or functional use.
