Oxford University, 1950s "Life in Britain's Oldest Seat of Learning"

A group of seven silver gelatin press prints depicting scenes from Oxford University in the 1950s, each measuring approx. 20 x 25.5cm, all but one with typed captions affixed verso, citing the Central Office of Information / Crown Copyright. Subjects include a view of "The High", Oxford's famous main street; mixed doubles at the grass lawn tennis courts at St. Hilda's; a view of the spire in the City of Oxford; undergraduates using the 'beer barrel' in Lord Crawshaw's room at Christ Church; a view of the teaching laboratory of the Faculty of Physical Sciences; and a view of Cambridge May Week.

Together with five 1930s silver print views of London at night, each measuring 20 x 25.5cm.
