
A group of five silver and bromide prints depicting early 20th century New Zeland landscapes and portraits, comprising: a group portrait by Moore & Thompson studio depicting a group of four standing in front of a waharoa (location unknown), image/sheet size 21 x 16.5cm, studio stamp verso; a small portrait of a Maori man produced by the New Zealand Tourist Department mounted to a trimmed piece of card, overall measuring 11 x 8cm; a study of 'Prince of Wales Feather Ferns, Waikaremoana' by J.W. Chapman Taylor, mounted to a folded sheet of period card, overall measuring 28 x 22cm, signed and titled by the photographer lower margin recto; a study of a Rimu Tree, mounted to period card, overall measuring 30.5 x 23cm, titled in the negative; a landscape scene of the Buller River, Near Longford, image/sheet size 18.5cm x 24cm, titled and credited to Nelson in the negative.
Together with a matte silver print of a man in the cockpit of a WWI British Bomber plane, mounted to card, overall measuring 25 x 31cm; and a view of the Entrance to the Haram, Jerusalem, attr. to Jacob Benor-Kalter, mounted to period card, overall measuring 40.5 x 30.5cm, titled and signed in pencil lower margin recto.
Note: The Moore & Thompson group portrait has a comparable image held in the National Library of New Zealand, in the same location by the same studio [ref.1/2-129597-F].
