
An album of approx. (90) cartes-de-visite and cabinet cards, image size 8.5 x 5cm (smallest) to 14x10cm (largest), by various photographers' studios, such as P.M. Laws &Son, Newcastle; W.P. Glaisby, York; J.W. Ramsden, Leeds; W.D. Brigham, Scarborough; Geo Nesbitt, Bournemouth; Appleton &Co., Bradford; and W.H.Ledgard, Bradford; Marchbank &Harland, Bradford; Josia Martin, Auckland, New Zeland; among others. Subjects include portraits of women and men, family portraits, and portraits of children. Interestingly, the album includes two cabinet cards, portraying the American actress Mary Anderson - Mrs De Navarro (1859-1940), image size 14 x 10cm; one by B.Barrington, London; and one by Henry Van der Weyde (1838-1924), depicting the actress as Galatea in 'Pygmalion and Galatea', a play by W.S. Gilbert. Housed in a brown morocco leather album, with decorated blue pages, and a brass hook on the long side.
Together with a 1930s snapshot album, comprising 34 silver prints of Spanish views, including Majorca and Ibiza.
