James Valentine [and Sons] London Views, c.1890s
An album of 48 collotype prints, image size 10.5 x 15cm (smallest) to 18 x 23 cm (largest), most captioned, numbered and signed J.V. in the negative, comprising views of London, such as Thames Embankment; The British Museum; London Bridge; The Crystal Palace; Trafalgar Square; including an interesting image of the Tower Bridge on the opening day in 1894. The album also features views of British landmarks across Great Britain, including Ely Cathedral, Rhuddlan Castle, Canterbury Cathedral, and the Lion's Head Rock in Dovedale, among others.
Housed in a red morocco leather album, with gilt lettering 'Photographs'.
