British Portraiture Interest Emeris Family Album, Louth, c.1870s

An album comprising albumen prints (approx.108), image sizes between 5 x 6cm (smallest) and 22 x 16cm (largest), related to the Emeris Family of Louth, including a portrait of William Robert Emeris (1817-1896), a portrait of his wife Barbara Gordon and their children, and other family members including Major Gordon and ; together with an interesting group of panoramic views of Louth, Rouen, Reims, Chatsworth Castle, Diman, Kynance Cove, Caen, Amiens, Weymouth, Matlock, the Exeter Cathedral, Torquay, among the others. Notably, the album contains an albumen print depicting Queen Victoria in her later years; many of the pages are decorated with artistic reproductions, fine hand-coloured drawings and floral decorations.
