Description
L:255cmW:210cmWeight:11000gThe design of this hand-knotted Ningxia rug is inspired by carpets of the Kangxi period (1662–1722) of the Qing dynasty. The field depicts a pair of auspicious lions in dynamic motion, their curling manes and lively expressions rendered with great vitality. Flowing ribbons and drifting clouds surround the figures, enhancing the sense of movement. At the center appears a flaming jewel, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune as the lions play with the pearl. The composition is framed by scrolling vine borders that echo the decorative rhythm of the field. The pile is soft and dense, and the harmonious palette reflects the elegant and lively decorative style characteristic of Ningxia carpets.
