Batchelder played a pivotal role in shaping the Handicraft Guild of Minneapolis. As the Guild’s first director of its summer school, he shared his artistic vision and technical expertise with many students before later establishing his own school and company in California. Many of the Guild’s designs are attributed to his hand.
