Julia Mattson (American, 1893-1967) for University of North Dakota (UND) School of Mines, United States. Art pottery "Buffalo" vase, ca. 1930s. Featuring three repeating panels encircling the shoulder, each depicting a pair of buffalo confronting one another in opposing profile. Ink-stamped "University of North Dakota School of Mines," "Grand Forks, N.D.", and "N.D. Clay" along the underside. Incised "JM" artist's cipher and numbered "284."

There are no breaks, losses, or signs of restoration. Light crazing to the glaze. Light wear to the footrim.
