Description of this plate in the 1981 guide - Pairpoint's First Fifty Plates reads: The restoration of the Rotch-Rodman House is commemorated by this cup plate. Benjamin Rodman, a prominent businessman and banker, built the house in 1820-21, and it is a handsome example of a Federal Period Mansion, In 1965, the Waterfront Historic Area League (WHALE) undertook its restoration. A use for the restored house was found in 1974 when WHALE made it available to the New Bedford Glass Society for use as a glass museum. On a window sill, these cup plates capture the sun beautifully, further accentuating the intricate design & color.Condition:
