Beautiful turn of the century solid engine turned brass mortar & pestle, signed "Tiffany Studios New York" on the base. This set was clearly used for many years based on the loving patina and wear to the pestle knob.

I handle a lot of pharmacy and antique medical items, and this mortar and pestle is by far the highest quality I have ever seen. It is extremely heavy for it's size and very finely cast and turned.

The mortar measures 3 5/8" in diameter at it's top and is 5 3/4" tall and the pestle is 8" in length. The only damage outside of normal wear that I see are some superficial cracks to the top rim where it's rolled over. They do not appear to be causing any structural issues whatsoever.

This is a very rare and exceptional addition to any medical or pharmacology collection!
