Pair of exceptional and special c. 1960 custom architect designed, artisan made polished Italian Carrara marble cube side tables with rare integrated plinth base. Provenance: An original furnishing removed from a 1960 mid century modern office building (Container Corporation of America in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania). The design of the building and its furnishings is attributed to Herbert Bayer, one of the original Bauhaus architects associated with Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.

Excellent original condition with only minimal honest wear; some small losses to bottom edges/corners and minor imperfections from normal use. Unique, heavy and far superior quality to most. Each has an integrated solid marble plinth base.

These are special and are early custom-made examples of this minimalist design form and are unlike the usually found less-substantial ones that are made much later in the 70s, 80s or 90s. All the marble retains its beautiful high polished glossy surfaces. You will not be disappointed.

Each one weighs in at 120 lbs.!!
