Description
Absolutely beautiful antique c.1870's silver plated covered serving dish by the well regarded Sheffield silver firm of John Round & Son. It has a wonderful aesthetic pattern to it, with lion paw feet and a shell motif on the front.
It measures 12 1/2" wide, 9 1/2" deep and 8 1/2" tall.
The dome hinge works nice and smoothly, and the interior is wonderfully clean without pitting, definitely able to be used for your next dinner party!
The exterior has some silver loss as you can see in the photographs, from being polished over the past 150 years. Mainly to the top dome. There is some slight verdigris patina to the feet and shell motif as shown, could be cleaned off with polish if you were so inclined, but personally I like it and think it gives it a sense of authenticity for it's age.
