Late 19th Century Rustic Farmhouse Milking Stool

Description

This small, oak stool has turned legs united by cupid bow stretchers. The top has a decorative cut out, which serves as a handle. It features distinctive turned, or "barley twist," legs and a carved apron, which are characteristic of the Louis XIII style popular in France, or English Jacobean/Eastlake styles. 19th century

Condition Notes: This is a rustic stool with the original finish with wear commensurate with age. There is a small scratch pictured in the photographs on the top side of the stool and scuff marks but generally overall is a very solid piece, barleycorn spindle legs are in good condition and it is stable to carry.
