It's hard to imagine today, but in the time that this machine was created, the game of pinball had a somewhat illicit reputation within American culture, and those who played it did so in the spirit of teenage rebellion. Pinball's criminal reputation derives from its original function as a gambling machine, a function that actually led to it being illegal during the 1940's in America. Despite its eventual legalization and transformation from gambling machine to simple recreational pastime, the reputation hung around, especially in New York City, where it remained illegal until 1976!

This machine, produced by D. Gottlieb & Company in 1953, is one of only 1700 units produced and is in excellent playable condition. It is an Electro-Mechanical pinball machine, themed around poker in the wild west, that features two flippers, three pop bumpers, and six gobble holes, as well as red and green geometric design with bevelled wood legs and borders around the playfield and backglass. Remnants of pinball's historic reputation are even visible on the front of the machine, with two small signs reading "No Wagering, No Prizes" and "Minors not permitted to play this game". Includes two keys and seven balls (currently removed from the machine for ease of transport).

The final price you pay is made up of your winning bid, a buyer’s premium, and sales tax when applicable.
