Description

Gilt bronze, size about ½ which suggests a child of six months age or less. Slightly rounded face band, 1.9mm width flaring to the shoulders. Circular bezel with a central cross of triple line beams, surmounted by a saltire. The custom of baptizing infants originated in the second century with the evolution of the concept of Original Sin. Rings for infants were surely a luxury reserved for the noble class. Professionally refurbished with 24karat gold surface restored, gift boxed with certificate of authenticity. A wonderful gift for a modern Baptism!
