Description

The Viking period through early Crusades. Gilt bronze, of heavy proportions, size 5 1/2. Rounded face 4.1mm width band with slightly thickened bottom in the Roman taste and as carried on through the Dark Ages. Round bezel engraved with a four-point star of Bethlehem in a radiant surround. See Ancient Rings, Pollio, p.103. Good quality and exceptional preservation. A charming wearable example with the 24karat gold surface restored. Gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
