RARE ROMAN SACRIFICIAL KNIFE AMULET, 1st-2nd CENTURY AD

Description

Silvered bronze, slightly under 1 1/2" length, modeled after the knives used by Roman priests for the sacrifice of small animals in Pagan rituals. See British Museum #1873.8.20.31, for a related example. Original suspension loop with coiled tail typical of Roman taste. The pure silver overlay restored and mounted to an 18" Sterling silver neck chain for modern wear. It comes with a certification of authenticity and is jewelry gift boxed.
