Description
The dextarum iunctio or hand clasp motif originated with the Greeks. In Rome, it was sacred to gods Concordia and Fides. It evolved in the Medieval period to the mani in fede (hands in faith) and was used as here, on wedding rings. This example is size 8 ½ with 1.9mm deeply rounded band. The bezel is the stylized pair of hands in a grasp, flanked by cuffs representing the wrists, a distinguishing characteristic of its Medieval form. It is Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. Jewelry gift boxed with certificate of authenticity.
