Title: Oil painting Winds and sun of summer Oksana Kalenyuk Description: NoAAA5112The oil painting on Cardboard titled "Winds and sun of summer" captures a lively and expressive portrait of a sun-soaked countryside scene, where color, texture, and movement come together to embody the essence of a summer afternoon. At the center of the composition stands a weathered two-story house painted in warm amber and ochre tones, its surface aglow under the unrelenting sunlight. The building is a character in itself-its imperfect lines and aged fa?ade speak of long days passed in stillness and activity, of stories unfolding on porches and behind curtains. This is not just a structure-it is memory embodied. Above the house, the sky swirls in a symphony of turquoise and teal, streaked with broad, loose brushstrokes that create an almost wind-whipped atmosphere. Flecks of white dance across the sky, suggesting either swirling birds or bits of summer wind lifting flower petals into the air. This detail imbues the sky with kinetic energy, making it a vital participant in the composition rather than just a backdrop. To the left of the house, nestled behind trees ablaze in rusts, greens, and shadows of deep violet, a tall water tower peeks into the sky. With its red conical roof and pale support beams, it evokes a sense of rural familiarity-an echo of utility and permanence amid the transient beauty of summer. Its presence balances the composition, mirroring the house while receding slightly into the foliage, giving depth and rhythm to the work. The trees themselves are rendered with dynamic impasto strokes, their leaves catching hints of burgundy, ochre, and forest green. These trees seem to pulse with life, as if the summer wind rustling their branches could be heard if one leans in close. They surround the house like sentinels, framing it in the natural world and suggesting both protection and isolation. The foreground bursts with textured greens and browns, suggesting untamed grass and underbrush, thick and fertile beneath the summer heat. The palette knife work here is particularly tactile, creating ridges and layers that make the landscape almost sculptural. Every stroke is deliberate, every smear of color loaded with the intensity of a season at its peak.
