Vintage Sterling Amethyst Marcasite Floral Basket Brooch, 1980's, Signed what looks like MC or MD - part of the letters are missing. The basket is appx. 2.25" wide and 2" tall. It has pointed and round petal flowers with amethyst centers that are bezel-set as well as other amethysts for a total of four oval amethysts that are appx. 6.5mm by 5.5mm and three round that are appx. 4mm to 5mm. I do not see that any marcasites are missing - they are throughout the entire brooch. The bottom of the basket is enameled with a black band. Stunning brooch with lots of detail and curls and curves. Weight is appx. 21.83 grams and it does test as sterling and is marked sterling. Very good condition. (W93018.1X1 SS9428 J LD 1/20/23). L ET 3/30/24 JK
