ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 11082. Bbl. 23" octagon created from its original round configuration retaining the Springfield caliber marking plus "D1816" drawing number on its bottom just forward of the receiver. Mfg. mid to late 1930's (classed as Modern due to customizing) with improvements over the original 1922; mainly the bolt having adjustable headspace plus a newly designed striker assembly for faster lock time which is conducive to accuracy. Drilled and tapped for right side receiver sight, its Redfield one piece scope base plus a Unertl style target base on the barrel at the proper 7.2" on center spacing from front set of the receiver. Superb metal finish that includes recontouring of the trigger guard bow. Bolt assembly has replacement custom handle with relief for scope use plus knurling around circumference of its pear shaped knob . Bolt is marked "C3998", fitted with Buehler low scope safety and has a jeweled body. Redfield 1" single under screw scope rings holding Japanese gloss finished Bushnell 4-12X40AO scope with duplex reticle. Beautiful, high quality checkered walnut stock with black basket weave faced Pachmayr buttpad. Multi panels of borderless checkering to include ribbons, points and wraparound forend panel. Grip is tear drop shaped and buttstock has raised cheekpiece (light roll over) with Monte Carlo profile. Nice straight grained front section of stock; very fine figure in butt area. Vintage detachable 1" sling swivels have push button release that is now popular again on modern military style rifles. Original trigger has been modified to reduce backlash. All of action and barrel channel are glass bedded. A great full sized rimfire sporting rifle. MAGS: 1 aftermarket (likely by Triple-K) 4 rd. CONDITION: All visual aspects are near excellent including bore and scope set. Safety does not function properly as it intermittently releases when manipulated while cocked; should have immediate gunsmith attention for safety.
