Cal. 34. NSN. Bbl. 3 3/8". Percussion knife pistol produced by an unknown mfg. in England. Bbl. is marked with 2 British proofs on the left quarter flat towards the breech. Frame is fitted with 2-piece pinned horn scales. Underside of receiver features 2 folding blades, 1 measuring approx. 3 3/8" and the other approx. 2 1/16". Left side of the ricasso on the smaller blade is marked "S. BRIGHT & Co". Frame features a hinged door on the butt, with a bullet mold on the left and a tweezer set on the right. Bead front sight has been flattened. CONDITION: bbl. is good, exhibiting scattered handling marks and spots of age related discoloration. Hammer and trigger exhibit a dark mottled gray patina, with spots of light to mild surface oxidation. Bore exhibits what appears to be hardened firing residue. Proper manual mechanics. Frame scales show scattered superficial scratches, with several small cracks present on the left side around one of the pins. Blades exhibit a dark mottled gray patina. Larger blade is chipped at the point, shows a moderate ding to the edge, and shows areas of moderate pitting around the point. Smaller blade is chipped at the point, showing spots of mild pitting and dark surface oxidation. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (01-27679/MLW). ANTIQUE. $500-800.
