An original bronze Lantaka swivel cannon dating likely from mid 18th century to early 19th century in v ery good condition overall. These were used throughout the South East Indian ocean referred to as the East Indies. These were used primarily at close quarters, firing leads balls, stones and other debris while mounted on merchant or pirate vessles. This example measures roughly 34 inches total and has a 1 1/8 inch bore and has a muzzle flare of 3 3/4 inches. This cannon comes complete with its original integral swivel mount for use at both land and sea and sports two ornate dolphin figures ornamentally places on top to assist in moving and aesthetic. These usually had a wooden handle on the end but is absent on this example. Total weight comes in a approximately 33 pounds likely making this an earlier variant as later examples are much lighter. This is manufactured completely out of cast bronze. This example also comes with a hand-carved ram rod in very good condition as well. Shipping is Available.
